Inspired by the words of François Couperin — “I admit in all honesty that I prefer what moves me to what surprises me” — our production is built on a powerful belief: true art does more than impress. It moves. It transforms. It stays with us.
A Baroque Experience Reimagined for the Next Generation
Baroque music possesses a rare magic. It transports us across centuries while speaking directly to our present moment. Through its expressive richness, luminous structures, and emotional sincerity, it opens a path toward contemplation, wonder, and the sublime.
But we asked ourselves a bold question:
How do we share this depth with young audiences—without simplifying it, without diluting it, without underestimating them?
Our answer is simple: we trust them.
A Story That Comes to Life
The performance unfolds in two captivating movements:
Part I – The Illustrated Dream
A rapid sequence of graphic-novel-style illustrated panels tells the story of a young prince chasing a butterfly through a forest. As dusk falls, the butterfly returns—transformed into a moth—guiding him toward a mysterious tree whose hollow trunk is shaped like a musical note. Drawn by wonder, he follows it into the darkness.
Baroque music anchors this world. Atmospheric works evoke a rich historical soundscape, grounding the narrative in a timeless yet vibrant artistic universe. The music does not accompany the story—it is the story.
Part II – Music in Three Dimensions
As the score intensifies, the characters emerge physically from the tree. The prince becomes a three-dimensional puppet and steps directly into the orchestra.
Now the magic expands.
He moves between the musicians. He listens. He plays. He dreams. He discovers music at the very moment it is created.
The repertoire evolves into more playful Baroque works, emphasizing solo pieces that allow direct interaction between performer and puppet. The audience witnesses something rare: music not as distant heritage, but as living matter—breathing, responsive, immediate.
